Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the difference between RRB and RRC?
RRB (Railway Recruitment Board) conducts large-scale open market exams (NTPC, Group D, ALP). RRC (Railway Recruitment Cell) now mainly handles Apprenticeships, Sports Quota, and Cultural Quota recruitments.
Where can I apply for Railway Apprenticeship?
You must apply through the specific RRC website of the zone releasing the notification (e.g., rrcnr.org for Northern Railway). There is no central website for apprenticeships.
Does RRC still conduct Group D exams?
Currently, RRBs are conducting the major Level 1 (Group D) written exams. However, RRCs are often responsible for the subsequent Physical Efficiency Tests (PET) and Document Verification (DV).
Is there an RRC for every state?
No, RRCs are organized by Railway Zones (e.g., Northern Railway, Western Railway), not by states. One RRC may cover multiple states.
