💰 RPF SI Job Profile & Salary (Level-6)

The Sub-Inspector post falls under Level-6 of the 7th CPC. The Basic Pay starts at ₹35,400, with a gross salary ranging from ₹50,000 to ₹60,000 initially.

⚙️ Selection Process (Recruitment Stages)

Stage 1: CBT (Computer Based Test)

Single stage exam consisting of 120 questions (General Awareness: 50, Arithmetic: 35, General Intelligence & Reasoning: 35). 90 Minutes duration. 1/3rd Negative Marking applies.

Stage 2: PET & PMT

Physical Efficiency Test (Run/Jump) and Physical Measurement Test (Height/Chest). This stage is Qualifying in nature but mandatory.

Stage 3: Document Verification (DV)

Candidates qualifying PET/PMT are called for DV based on CBT merit.

Stage 4: Medical Examination

Candidates must be medically fit in the B-1 category.

🏃 Physical Efficiency Test (PET) Standards

Candidates must clear the PET to proceed. There are no marks for PET, it is pass/fail. You get only one chance for the run, and two chances for High/Long Jump.

📏 Physical Measurement Test (PMT)

General Awareness (50 Marks): History, Polity, Geography, Economics, Science, Current Affairs. Arithmetic (35 Marks): Number System, %age, Ratio, Average, SI/CI, Profit & Loss, Mensuration. General Intelligence & Reasoning (35 Marks): Analogies, Coding-Decoding, Series, Blood Relations, Syllogism.

Q: What is the age limit for RPF SI? A: Generally, 20 to 25 years for UR. However, recent notifications have provided age relaxation (e.g., up to 28 years). SC/ST get +5 years, OBC gets +3 years.
Q: Is there a chest measurement for females? A: No. Chest measurement is applicable ONLY for male candidates.
Q: Is there negative marking? A: Yes. There is a negative marking of 1/3rd mark for every incorrect answer in the CBT.
Q: Can I apply if I wear glasses? A: Yes, provided you meet the B-1 Medical Standard. Unlike ALP (A-1), B-1 allows for glasses with certain limits (6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses).
