The recruitment includes two primary categories with distinct pay levels, eligibility, and exam patterns.

Role: Core maintenance work in Electrical, Mechanical, and S&T departments. Includes Fitter, Electrician, Diesel Mechanic, and S&T (Tele) roles.

⚙️ Selection Process

The selection process has been simplified. There is ONLY ONE CBT followed by DV.

Stage 1: CBT (Computer Based Test)

Separate CBTs for Grade I and Grade III. Marks scored here will decide the final merit.
Grade I Signal: 100 Q (90 Mins). Focus on Basic Science, Engg, GA, Reasoning, Maths.
Grade III: 100 Q (90 Mins). Focus on Maths, Reasoning, General Science (10th level).

Stage 2: Document Verification (DV)

Candidates equal to the number of vacancies (1:1 ratio) will be called for DV based on CBT merit. There is NO CBT-2 or Psycho Test.

Stage 3: Medical Examination

Candidates must pass the prescribed medical standard (A-3/B-1/B-2) for their allotted post. Visual acuity is crucial.

🏥 Medical Standards Explained

Candidates must be medically fit. Glasses are permitted for B-1 and B-2 categories, but restricted for A-3.

⚠️ LASIK Surgery Warning: Candidates who have undergone LASIK surgery are UNFIT for posts requiring A-3 Medical Standard (e.g., Technician Track Machine).
  • A-3: Distance Vision: 6/9, 6/9 with or without glasses (Power of lenses not to exceed 2D).
  • B-1: Distance Vision: 6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses (Power not to exceed 4D).
  • B-2: Distance Vision: 6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses (Power not to exceed 4D).

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: Is 12th Pass eligible for Technician? A: Yes. Candidates with 10+2 (Physics & Maths) are eligible for Technician Grade III Signal & Telecom (S&T) posts. For other Grade III posts, ITI/Apprenticeship is mandatory.
Q: Is there a Psycho Test for Technician? A: No. Unlike ALP, there is NO Psycho Test (CBAT) for Technician posts. Selection is based purely on the single CBT score.
Q: Is there negative marking? A: Yes. There is a negative marking of 1/3rd mark for every incorrect answer in the CBT.
Q: Can I apply for both Grade I and Grade III? A: Yes! If you meet the eligibility for both (e.g., B.Tech/Diploma for Gr I and ITI/12th for Gr III), you can apply for both separately. You will have to pay separate fees and appear for separate exams.
