Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: Is a Skill Test mandatory for all? A: No. The Skill Test (Stenography/Translation) is only for specific posts like Stenographer and Translator. For posts like Chief Law Assistant or Welfare Inspector, selection is based directly on CBT merit.
Q: What is the “Professional Ability” section? A: This section asks questions specific to your qualification. For example, a Law Assistant will face questions on IPC, CrPC, and Constitution. A Translator will face questions on Hindi/English grammar and translation rules.
Q: Can I apply for multiple posts? A: Yes, if you possess the requisite qualifications for multiple categories (e.g., both Steno and Translator), you can apply for both. You may have to pay separate fees and appear for separate CBTs if they are scheduled in different shifts/days.
Q: What is the medical standard? A: Most MI posts are administrative, requiring C-1 or C-2 medical standards (less strict on vision). However, check the specific notification for posts like Finger Print Examiner which may require higher standards.
