RRB NTPC Graduate Level Selection Process

The recruitment process for Graduate posts (Station Master, Goods Train Manager, Sr. Clerk etc.) involves 4 stages:

1st Stage CBT: Common for all posts. Screening test (100 Marks). Marks are NOT added to final merit.

2nd Stage CBT: Separate exams for Level 4, 5 & 6. Merit-determining exam (120 Marks). Candidates shortlisted 15 times the vacancies.

Skill Test (CBAT/CBTST):
CBAT (Psycho): For Station Master & Traffic Assistant.
Typing Test: For Sr. Clerk & Jr. Accounts Assistant.

Document Verification (DV) & Medical: Final verification based on CBT-2 merit & Skill Test status.

📐 गणित (Mathematics)
  • अंक प्रणाली, दशमलव, भिन्न, लघुतम समापवर्तक तथा महत्तम समापवर्तक (LCM/HCF)।
  • अनुपात एवं समानुपात, प्रतिशत, क्षेत्रमिति, समय तथा कार्य।

Skill Tests (CBAT & CBTST)

🧠 Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)

For Station Master & Traffic Assistant:

  • Candidates equal to 8 times the vacancies are shortlisted.
  • Qualifying Marks: Minimum T-Score of 42 in each test battery.
  • Vision Certificate: Original Annexure VII certificate is mandatory during CBAT.
  • Merit: 70% of CBT-2 marks + 30% of CBAT marks.
⌨️ Computer Based Typing Skill Test (CBTST)

For Sr. Clerk cum Typist & Jr. Accounts Assistant:

  • Qualifying Nature: Marks are not added to merit.
  • Speed: 30 WPM in English OR 25 WPM in Hindi.
  • Hindi Fonts: Kruti Dev and Mangal.
  • Exemption: For PwBD candidates (>40% disability) with certificate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there negative marking in NTPC Graduate exam?
Yes, there is a negative marking of 1/3rd marks for every incorrect answer in both CBT-1 and CBT-2.
What are the minimum qualifying marks?
The minimum percentage of marks for eligibility is: UR-40%, EWS-40%, OBC-30%, SC-30%, ST-25%.
Does Goods Train Manager require a Skill Test?
No, there is NO Skill Test for Goods Train Manager. Selection is based on CBT-2 marks followed by DV and Medical.
Are CBT-1 marks added to the final merit list?
No, CBT-1 is only a screening test. The final merit list is based on the marks obtained in CBT-2 (plus CBAT score for SM posts).
