The Section Controller is a pivotal role in the Operations Department. It is a Level-6 post (7th CPC).

Role: Working in the Divisional Control Room. Responsible for monitoring and controlling the movement of all trains in a specific section. Coordinating with Station Masters, Loco Pilots, and Guards to ensure punctuality and safety. Handling abnormal situations like accidents or equipment failures.

⚙️ Selection Process

The recruitment process involves a Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by a Psycho Test (CBAT).

Stage 1: CBT (Computer Based Test)

Single stage exam consisting of 100 questions in 90 Minutes.

• Mathematics: 20 Q

Negative Marking: 1/3rd.

Stage 2: CBAT (Psycho Test)

Crucial Stage: Candidates equal to 8 times the vacancies are shortlisted. You must score a minimum T-Score of 42 in each test battery to qualify.

Stage 3: Document Verification (DV)

Shortlisting based on CBT merit (70% weightage) + CBAT score (30% weightage).

Stage 4: Medical Examination

Strict A-2 Medical Standard is mandatory. Candidates must be medically fit in all respects.

⚠️ LASIK Surgery Warning: Candidates who have undergone LASIK surgery or any eye correction surgery are UNFIT for the Section Controller post (A-2 Standard).

    • Distance Vision: 6/9, 6/9 without glasses.
    • Near Vision: Sn 0.6, 0.6 without glasses.
    • Tests: Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Night Vision, Field of Vision.
