How to Calculate Negative Marking

To estimate your score accurately using the Answer Key, you must apply the standard negative marking formula used in Railway examinations.

  • Correct Answer: +1 Mark
  • Incorrect Answer: -1/3 Mark (Deduction)
  • Unattempted: 0 Marks

Formula to Calculate Score:

(Total Correct Answers × 1) – (Total Wrong Answers × 1/3) = Estimated Score

Example: If you attempted 50 questions, got 42 correct and 8 wrong:

  • Marks for Correct: 42
  • Negative Marks: 8 × 0.33 = 2.66
  • Final Score: 42 – 2.66 = 39.34
