Important Instructions for Eligible Staff
The notification outlines critical next steps for the shortlisted employees:
- Submission of Unwillingness: If any eligible staff member is not willing to appear for the examination, they must submit their unwillingness/representation through their controlling officer and Personnel Officer of the division immediately.
- Pre-Selection Training: For SC/ST candidates, mandatory pre-selection training will be arranged. If an SC/ST candidate is not willing to attend this training, they must submit a written undertaking.
- Discrepancies: Any errors in the list regarding service details or eligibility should be brought to the notice of the HQ Office/BBS immediately for rectification.
What is LDCE in Railways?
LDCE (Limited Departmental Competitive Examination) is a fast-track promotion route for serving Railway employees. Unlike the General Departmental Competitive Examination (GDCE) which is open to all eligible staff, LDCE is generally restricted to staff within a specific seniority unit or department. It allows Group D (Level-1) staff to get promoted to Group C (Level-2 like Technician III) based on merit in a written/CBT exam rather than just seniority.
