The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), Eastern Railway (ER), Kolkata has released the Final Answer Key for the Computer Based Test (CBT) Stage-I exam conducted for Scouts & Guides Quota Recruitment (2025-26). In an important notice dated 22nd January 2026, the RRC announced that following the review of objections raised by candidates, the final key has been prepared with modifications.
The exam was held on 17th December 2025 for Group ‘C’ (Level-2) posts. Candidates who appeared for this exam can now check the final responses and understand the revised evaluation criteria.

Important Update: 2 Questions Omitted
Upon reviewing the objections submitted by candidates, the competent authority has decided to omit two questions from the evaluation process due to ambiguity and specificity issues.
- Question ID-3 (Regarding Chief Patron): Omitted because the options included President, Vice President, and State Governor, creating confusion as all hold patron roles at different levels.
- Question ID-33: Omitted to ensure specificity, although one option was close to the answer.
How Marks Will Be Calculated (Pro-Rata Basis)
Since 2 questions have been dropped, the evaluation will now be based on the remaining 38 valid questions.

- Normalization: The marks obtained out of 38 will be pro-rated (scaled up) to a total of 40 marks to ensure fairness for all candidates.
How to Calculate Negative Marking
With the pro-rata system in place, calculating your score can be tricky. Here is a simple guide:
- Count Correct Answers: Check your response against the Final Green Key for the 38 valid questions.
- Count Incorrect Answers: Note the number of wrong attempts.
- Apply Formula:
- Score = (Correct Answers × 1) – (Incorrect Answers × 1/3)
- Note: This raw score (out of 38) will then be converted to a score out of 40.
Example: If you attempted 35 valid questions, got 30 right and 5 wrong:
- Raw Score = 30 – (5 × 0.33) = 28.35 (out of 38)
- Final Pro-Rated Score = (28.35 / 38) × 40 = 29.84 (out of 40)
