Understanding the Normalization Process

Since RRB exams are conducted in multiple shifts, the raw marks obtained by candidates are converted into a Normalized Score to ensure fairness. This normalized score is used to prepare the final merit list and panel.

  • Why Normalization? To equalize the variation in difficulty levels of question papers across different shifts.
  • The Logic: If a candidate appeared in a difficult shift, their marks might be increased relative to a candidate in an easier shift.
  • Final Merit: The cut-off marks mentioned in this Part Panel-03 are based on these normalized scores (or raw scores if the exam was single-shift, though typically normalization applies).

For more details on exam patterns, you can check the RRB ALP Syllabus or RRB JE Syllabus if you are targeting other technical exams.

Important Instructions for Empanelled Candidates

  • Re-verification: All original certificates will be checked once again by Western Railway before the appointment letter is issued.
  • Fraud Alert: Beware of touts promising jobs for money. The recruitment process is fully computerized and merit-based.
  • Updates: Keep visiting the official website for further updates regarding your joining letter.
