Medical Unfitness List and Appeal Process

According to Notice No: RRB/BNC/RT/MEDICAL APPEAL/CEN 03/2024, six candidates have been found UNFIT in the prescribed medical category (A3) after their examination at Railway Hospitals.

The board has provided a fair chance for these candidates to appeal against the decision of the Railway Medical Authority. To file an appeal, candidates must submit their application to the Principal Chief Medical Director (PCMD), South Western Railway, Hubballi.

Key Conditions for Appeal:

  • Deadline: The appeal must reach the RRB Bangalore office (18, Millers Road, Bengaluru – 560046) by 18:00 Hours on 02/03/2026.
  • Mode: Registered Post or Speed Post only.
  • Requirements: You must enclose a Medical Certificate (Proforma-B) from a Government/Private Specialist and a Demand Draft of Rs. 1,000/-.

Refund Policy: If the candidate is declared FIT after the re-medical examination, the DD amount of Rs. 1,000/- will be returned. If the unfit status persists, the amount will be forfeited.

Final Call for Absconding Candidates

In a separate notice, RRB Bangalore highlighted that 02 candidates (Roll Nos: 143242130654612 and 143245190939292) reported for the medical exam but left the hospital without completion (absconded).

  • Action Required: These candidates must report to the Railway Recruitment Board, Bangalore office immediately on any working day.
  • Last Date: On or before 05/02/2026.
  • Consequence: Failure to report by this date will result in the cancellation of candidature without further notice.

Step-by-Step Guide: How to Appeal for Medical Re-Examination

If you have been declared medically unfit and believe the decision is incorrect, follow these steps strictly to file your appeal:

  1. Download the Proforma: Get the official ‘Proforma-A’ (Appeal Application) and ‘Proforma-B’ (Medical Certificate) from the notification link below.
  2. Consult a Specialist: Visit a Government or Private Doctor specializing in the area you were declared unfit (e.g., Vision/Eye Specialist for A3 standard).
  3. Obtain Certificate (Proforma B): The specialist must certify that you meet the Railway Medical Standards.
    • Note: The doctor must attest your photo and explicitly state they are aware of the Railway’s physical/visual standards.
  4. Prepare Demand Draft: Create a DD of Rs. 1,000/- in favor of “Chairman, RRB, Bangalore”.
  5. Submit Application: Fill out Proforma-A in your own handwriting. Attach the original Medical Certificate and the DD.
  6. Send via Post: Send the complete package via Speed Post/Registered Post to the Chairman, RRB Bangalore, to reach before 02 March 2026.
