In an official notice dated 20th January 2026, the board released the Provisional Part Panel of 458 selected candidates and simultaneously issued the Result & Shortlist for the 2nd Round of Document Verification (DV) to fill vacant slots.
A total of 458 candidates have been successfully empanelled and their names recommended to the South Eastern Railway for appointment. Additionally, due to absentees and medical rejections in the first round, 50 new candidates have been provisionally shortlisted for the 2nd Document Verification cycle.

The latest notification clarifies the status of candidates from the previous verification rounds and outlines the path forward for waitlisted candidates.
1. Provisional Part Panel (Final Selection)
458 candidates have cleared the Computer Based Tests (CBTs), Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT), Document Verification, and Medical Examination. Their candidature is now secure, and they will receive offer letters from the Zonal Railway.
2. Why is there a 2nd Round of DV?
The board noted shortfalls due to several reasons:
- Absent in DV: 21 candidates did not appear.
- Medically Unfit: 20 candidates failed the strict A1 medical standard.
- Rejected/Cancelled: Candidature of several others was cancelled due to issues like non-submission of NOC, caste mismatch, or absconding.
To fill these vacancies, RRB Ranchi has lowered the merit list and called 50 additional candidates for the 2nd Round of DV and Medical Examination.
3. Cut-Off Marks for 2nd Round DV
The cut-off marks for candidates shortlisted for the 2nd DV round have been released. Candidates scoring above these marks in their respective categories have been called.

Follow these steps to check if your Roll Number is in the Panel or the 2nd DV List:

- Verify:
- If your number is in the first list, you are Empanelled (Selected).

For 2nd DV Candidates: List of Documents Required
If you are among the 50 newly shortlisted candidates, you must be ready with the original and two sets of self-attested photocopies of the following documents. The specific date for your DV will be announced soon on the website.
- Matriculation/High School Certificate (Proof of Date of Birth).
- 10+2 / Inter Certificate (if applicable).
- NCVT/SCVT Diploma/Certificate (Technical Qualification).
- Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL) in the prescribed Central Govt format.
- EWS Certificate (Income & Asset Certificate), if applicable.
- NOC (No Objection Certificate) for serving employees.
- Aadhaar Card (Original).
